Lenka Ješonková was born in Ostrava in 1987. Since her childhood, she liked to live in her own world of fantasy and imagination, nevertheless looking for her own style of expression was a long way. At high school she made some literary works – short stories and later also poems and reflections. She was awarded in a competition of literary works for a short poem that concerned the beginning of war in Afghanistan and some its political aspects.
Firstly, she worked as make-up artist. Her cooperation with many photographers aroused her interest in photography and she consequently started taking her own pictures. Her portraits evoke feelings of mystery, uncertainty and fear. Factors of time, derealisation, and depersonalisation can be found in all her pieces. Her inspiration comes from other amateur photographers, whose pictures reflect themselves and show fragments of their own world to the spectators.
She currently lives in Brno, where she usually takes her pictures. She cooperates with both professional and non-professional models. She works at University of Defence in Brno, where she focuses on research in the area of health risk assessment.
